Schools across Durham ,Darlington and The Tees Valley have been working with The Royal Opera House on music from the Magic Flute all year, leading up to this dramatic celebratory Big Sing event! Schools have taken part in workshops with real professional directors from London, and have prepared songs to sing together on 21st June at the Dolphin Centre Central Hall. They will sing through an adapted version of The Magic Flute, accompanied by musicians from The Royal Opera House and Durham Music Service, including Arias performed by members of the ROH up from London! Children have been learning all about opera, so are looking forward to performing these songs together, some with their own costumes and props, just like they would on stage at the Royal Opera House. There will be over 300 children singing from different schools so this will be a wonderful operatic experience for everyone involved.

This event is the final event of a full week of Create and Sing 'Big Sings': the other four are happening across the Tees Valley, led by TVMS. There will be over 1000 children performing The Magic Flute this week across the North East! This final event will be recorded as a top quality performance for the teachers, the children and their parents to keep.
