Durham Music Service Singing Strategy aims to enable all children in all schools in Durham to have the opportunity to sing. The Strategy aims to equip teachers with the skills, resources and confidence to deliver or facilitate meaningful and enjoyable singing opportunities.

During the course of the Academic year 2018/2019 there will be a series of CPD sessions to suit all needs and will cater for teachers with varying experiences and musical backgrounds. Schools are able to choose the level of CPD they require according to their own needs.

Vocal Horizons sessions will be 100% practical, with all participants encouraged to sing together as they work through the specially chosen repertoire. These sessions will be held at either Ushaw College, EDC Spennymoor or Newton Aycliffe; venue tbc depending on the uptake and size of room needed.

We are offering a comprehensive support system to set up a wide range of singing in your school called the Gold pathway. This includes 5 CPD sessions choose the 5 that suit your needs) plus a personalised consultancy meeting with the DMS Singing Strategy Developer.
