Since September the whole of year 3 at Pittington Primary School have had the opportunity to learn the violin with Mr. Hartley on Thursday afternoons. On Friday 15th February the class gave their concert to the school and parents, which was very enthusiastically received.  The excellent team work between staff and pupils really paid off, with a structured programme of music marking their progress. There was a variety of open string, bowed, and pizzicato pieces all learnt from memory. Many of the pupils are now continuing the violin in small group lessons, and look forward to future high profile DMS performing opportunities.
