The pupils at St George’s Academy were very excited on Wednesday as they had a very special VIP come to visit-The Mayor of Darlington! Over 50 young musicians, brass instruments and upper strings (violin and viola), performed for the Mayor and were then presented with their DMS Star Certificates and Stickers. Shaune Eland, Assistant Head of Service (pictured) said:

“I was so impressed with how well all the new musicians performed after learning their instrument for one term. They sounded so good! After the performance children from the audience lined up to ask if they could start learning music too! This shows just how much the children at St George’s love making music and how the school community celebrates their achievements”
