Make music every Tuesday in DMS Stars Easington!

This is a group which aims to give musicians a fun experience playing in a music group. Whether you've just started or you've been playing for a few years, come and join in! Our young musicians will learn how to follow a conductor, how to play in time with each other and how independent parts fit together to make our music group sound amazing!

It's a great opportunity to meet other musicians, make friends and play fun music every Tuesday! We will also be working towards performing in concerts throughout the year.

Instruments: Brass and woodwind

Level: beginners - Grade 1

Every Tuesday (starting Tuesday 3rd October 2023) 3.45pm - 4.30pm at Easington Academy.

Durham Regatta

Durham City Wind Band and Consett Wind Band will be involved in playing at Durham Regatta on Saturday 8th June 2-3pm. A lovely afternoon outside next to the river- come and enjoy a great outdoor performance!
Framwellgate Moor Music Transition Day 2024

The Music Department at Framwellgate School, Durham are holding a Transition Day for all Year 5 and 6 Woodwind and Brass musicians moving to Framwellgate School in September 2024.
Leadgate Methodist Concert

DMS Stars Band Consett and DMS Consett Wind Band are excited to be joined by The Glendale Choir for an evening of music making in celebration of International Make Music Day. All three groups will perform individually, with a joint grand finale singalong to finish! Leadgate Methodist Church 7 p.m. Admission free. Refreshments available after the performance.
Rock and Pop @ New College LIVE STREAM

Durham Music Services and New College are teaming up to wrap up the incredible journey of our secondary school bands. After months of dedicated preparation with Durham Music Staff, it all comes together in a thrilling day-long workshop and concert as part of the Big Play celebration. DMS Youth Voice Solo Performance Showcase

Durham Music Service Youth Voice Committee presents our first ever 'Solo Performance Showcase'. Do you sing or play an instrument? We have decided to create an event to allow you to come along and perform any piece of your choosing. This can be any level and can be accompanied or just you playing on your own. If you're a singer in a band at school, bring them along too!
Durham Music Choirs with Prince Bishops Brass

Durham Music Choirs have once again been invited to perform in this annual fundraiser concert for Durham Music Trust! This Primitive Methodist Chapel boasts beautiful acoustics for this early summer concert that showcases the work of the DMS choirs from across three different regions, central Durham, Darlington and East Durham.

DMS St Bede's Peterlee Rock Band

St Bede's Peterlee Rock Band is open to any secondary school pupil looking to play in a rock band! Playing or singing in a group is a brilliant experience: There's the chance to make new friends during rehearsals, develop new musical skills and celebrate success at special performances with friends and family. All instruments welcome! Tuesday afternoons during term time 3.15 - 4.00pm at St Bede's Catholic School, Peterlee.
DMS Whitworth Park Rock and Pop Band

This group is open to pupils in the Spennymoor area who play guitars, drums, keyboards or sing. We rehearse every Thursday from 3-4pm at Whitworth Park Academy and prepare songs for live performances across the school year. This group is open to students working at Grade 3 upwards in guitars, drums, keyboards, vocals.
Durham Music East Durham Strings

Come and join in with a brand new fun friendly group especially for violins, viola's and cellos of ALL abilities in East Durham! We will meet weekly during term time, to play together learning pieces of music, along with playing musical games and generally having a lovely musical time! We aim to share our skills to families and friends with at least 2 performances each year.
