Durham Music Durham City Orchestra

Durham Music City Orchestra is a fun and friendly string orchestra who get together on Mondays at Durham Johnston School. We welcome all string players from Grade 2 to Grade 5.

We play interesting and diverse pieces, learning new musical skills and how to play in an ensemble, and we aim to have a concert at the end of each term.

We’ll even be performing at the Sage concert hall this March!

Our students move up into the Durham Music Youth Orchestra when they reach Grade 5 standard.

Rehearsals happen weekly during term time on Mondays between 4.00 pm and 5.15 pm.

Instruments: Violin, Viola, Cello and Double Bass

Level: Grade 2 to 5
