DMS Whitworth Park Rock and Pop Band 2025-26

This group is open to pupils in the Spennymoor area who play guitars, drums, keyboards or sing. We rehearse every Thursday from 3-4.15pm at Whitworth Park Academy and rehearse a wide range of rock and pop songs and aim to perform several times a year.

Intermediate - Grade 3 Upwards

Guitars, Drums, Keyboards, Vocals.

Incredible free singing opportunity! Professional singers from the world famous choir, 'The Sixteen', are leading a workshop for young singers in County Durham. Hosted by Durham Music Service and the DMS Choirs, singers are invited to come along and learn some new songs, work on singing technique and learn new harmonies! Youth Voice Performance Showcase 2026

Durham Music Service Youth Voice Committee presents our 'Performance Showcase'. Do you sing or play an instrument? We have decided to create an event to allow you to come along and perform any piece of your choosing. This can be any level and can be accompanied or just you playing on your own. If you're a singer in a band at school, bring them along too!

DMS Weardale and Teesdale Flute Stars 2026-27

A fun group for pupils in Years 5 and 6 who already receive small group recorder lessons in school. Come along and transfer your skills to flute. A fun way to learn a new instrument, make new friends and take part in a music group all at the same time!
DMS Aycliffe Rocks 2025-26

Aycliffe Rocks is a group for anyone interested in playing rock and pop music led by a professional musician/tutor. We aim to have a number of performances in prestigious venues across the year to celebrate the talent of our young people. It is available to anyone who plays drums, guitar, bass, keyboards and vocals covering a wide range of styles.
